UCPWA

United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama, Inc., (UCPWA) is a private, non-profit corporation designated as a 501(C)(3) to operate in the State of Alabama. The Agency serves a sixteen-county area, including: Bibb, Choctaw, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Wilcox, and Winston Counties, with the administrative offices located at 1100 UCP Parkway, Northport, Alabama, 35476. UCPWA is governed by a Board of Directors that is elected at an annual meeting held in accordance with the Bylaws of this organization. The range of services are from birth through adulthood, provided by early intervention and preschool programs, afternoon and summer programs, therapeutic services, transition services, and adult day habilitation services. UCPWA is affiliated with the United Cerebral Palsy of Alabama, Inc. (UCPAL), and United Cerebral Palsy of America, Inc. (UCPA). In addition, UCPWA is certified by the DMH/ID, the Department of Mental Health/Department of Intellectual Disablities . UCPWA is also a United Way of West Alabama Agency.

Mission


 UCPWA serves the community by providing a full array of beneficial services and resources to individuals with disabilities and their families and by advocating their full independence, productivity and citizenship. We also educate through public awareness, fund-raising efforts, dissemination of information and acquisition of resources.

 United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama, Inc. envisions a community where all people are valued and encouraged to contribute to society. UCPWA will be a leading provider of resources and the leading advocate for this vision.
